Case Number 104004 - Turbine Rotor Cooled by Upstream Oscillating Wake Generator

Description: A novel approach for cooling turbine rotor blades has been devised that utilizes an oscillating wake generator. This cooling approach allows for hotter turbine temperatures or higher speed with less stress on the turbine blades. A further advantage is lower engine part count and increased engine cycle efficiency.
